Mapwize proposes 3 options for deployment:
- multi-tenant cloud
- private cloud
All of which can be combined with Mapwize Mirrors for local redundancy.
By default, Mapwize is deployed on a multi-tenant cloud, on mapwize.io.
The service is hosted on infrastructures from
- Microsoft Azure
- Amazon Web Services
It uses services provided by
Data is logically separated in the database by organization.
A custom instance of Mapwize can be deployed on a private cloud for a specific customer. The Mapwize team takes care of the deployment, the maintenance, the monitoring, and the upgrades.
Private clouds can be easily installed on Microsoft Azure. They can also be installed on other cloud providers as long as the client has a subscription with that provider and gives the Mapwize team the necessary administration accounts.
Private cloud instances can implement more advanced security requirements than allowed by the multi-tenant cloud. However, the associated cost is much higher.
For large Enterprise customers, an on-prem deployment is also possible. In this case, Mapwize provides the necessary software and the client IT teams take care of the hosting including deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and upgrades.
Such deployments are often linked to licenses for unlimited usage of Mapwize, which makes sense for very large customers.

Mapwize Mirrors allow to replicate Mapwize Map data locally on any server so that apps can connect to the Mirror instead of the main server. This allows the editing part to be left on the multi-tenant cloud, for example, while guaranteeing a fast and resilient access to the data at any location.
