Open your DWG files and filter layers to only have “rooms’ outlines” “building’s outlines” and “rooms’ names”
Then use a plug-in to close all your “rooms’ outlines” into one and only layer. (I recommend superboundary, a free trial is available online)
After you’ve done that, make all your text become blocks. With that option you’ll be able to
get clean and fancy polygons for your point of interests (POIs). You can also use the subcommand “text2block” (available with mapwize’s plug-in for Autocad) to make it easier and name it
(POI for example).
Export your file in Autocad 2017 compatibility mode.
For the Mapwize Studio part
import your autocad file and then set your georeference.

When the import is completed, you are now free to use “Sources” on Mapwize Studio. From there you’ll be able to customize your floorplan, set width, stroke color or opacity the way you want.
Set properly your POIs: In “elements to convert to places” you select you DWG blocs (POI) and the layer (it will be named Superboundary)
Then in Place template you type : {{name}} to avoid duplicate you can add {{autocad_unique_identifier}}. Should you do it otherwise, the POIs named the same way wont be displayed.
Select your PlaceType and finally, in Translations, just add {{name}} in the title
Press Import.
It’s all done ! You can now fully enjoy your own digitalized floorplan.
